EGU 2026

03/05/2026 @ 15 h 00 min - 08/05/2026 @ 17 h 00 min

As part of EGU26 (Vienna, Austria, 3–8 May 2026), Data Terra is co-organising two sessions: 🔸 Shaping the European landscape for Earth System Science – Making transnational data use of research infrastructures (https://lnkd.in/evpADmuv) This session, co-organised with NFDI4Earth, is aimed at all researchers, data managers and engineers involved in Earth sciences. It highlights European initiatives working to improve the openness, interoperability and reuse of environmental data. The aim is to promote more collaborative research and prepare scientific infrastructures for advanced uses, particularly those involving AI. 🔸 FAIR Data and Virtual Research Environments for Interdisciplinary Earth System Science (https://lnkd.in/eyUvs3RW) This more technical session is aimed at all researchers, engineers and infrastructure teams working in Earth and environmental sciences. It highlights the importance of virtual research environments (VREs) and data practices that comply with FAIR principles. The aim is to share concrete examples—workflows, collaborative platforms, enriched metadata—that demonstrate how to build more integrated, open environmental research that is ready to respond to global challenges. Please submit your abstracts before 15 January!
