AERIS participates in the European RI URBANS project!

The project “Research Infrastructures Services Reinforcing Air Quality Monitoring Capacities in European Urban & Industrial Areas” (RI-URBANS) is designed to develop and enhance synergies between European air quality monitoring networks and the Atmospheric Research Infrastructures ACTRIS, IAGOS (In-service Aircraft for a Global Observing System) and ICOS (Integrated Carbon Observation System). It is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Green Deal call for proposals.
AERIS, as the data centre of IAGOS and ACTRIS, is involved in this project.
RI-URBANS will combine scientific knowledge and innovative technologies to develop pilot tools, increasing the capacity of air quality monitoring networks to assess, predict and mitigate the impact of air quality on human health in order to support policies to reduce urban air pollution. 5 pilot tools implemented in 9 cities will demonstrate the ability to integrate complementary tools into air quality monitoring networks by performing data management according to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable) principles.

The 4-year project brings together 28 partners, including 3 French partners: CNRS and its third parties (IRD, SU, ENPC, ULILLE, CEA, UT3, UPEC), ITM and INERIS.
The project will start on 5 October.
