Review of the ACTRIS-FR Workshop

From October 15 to 18, the ACTRIS-FR workshop took place on the island of Oléron. This workshop brought together nearly 80 researchers from the ACTRIS community, as well as staff from the AERIS Data Center.

The AERIS Data Center took part in discussions during the CAET data group, with technical presentations of the Prefect workflow tool by Sven Rodrigez from AERIS/ESPRI and its use on the ACADO Lidar/Ozone processing chain for ACTRIS-FR by Renaud Bodichon from AERIS/ESPRI.

A presentation of the Daalia API was given by Fabrice Ducos from AERIS/ICARE. This tool can be used to search all data hosted by the ICARE data center, and will be deployed in other AERIS data centers. A first application of Daalia is the validation tool for ACTRIS-FR scientists. This tool enables scientists to validate and qualify data distributed in ACTRIS-RI. Numerous developments have been made by AERIS and this tool will soon be available to ACTRIS FR users. A presentation of the tool was given by Thomas Novareze from AERIS/ESPRI.

Finally, Guillaume Brissebrat, AERIS’ Technical Director, made several cross-disciplinary presentations to ACTRIS-FR scientists, in particular on AERIS’ contribution to the OBS4CLIM project’s data management plan, ACTRIS-ERIC’s new data portal, and the new services developed by AERIS to facilitate data access.

Apart from the data group, AERIS members also took part in scientific working groups, notably CAES Photon, Météo and GAZIS. AERIS will make sure to be more present in the scientific working groups at future ACTRIS-FR workshops.

Many thanks to the ACTRIS-FR Office for a successful workshop!
