Data from Météo-France ground-based stations available in AERIS

Following the acquisition and distribution of Météo-France rain radar data, AERIS now has access to observation data from the Météo-France ground network (RADOME and extended network) in France.

List of the ground network stations in France

The data available in the AERIS catalogue consists of two products: “real-time” data measured at automatic stations in the French network with an hourly time step, and data with a sub-hourly time step (6 minutes).
The basic parameters measured are: temperature, humidity, wind direction and strength, and precipitation.
Additional parameters, depending on the instrumentation present at the stations, are: ground temperature, visibility, ground conditions, insolation and global radiation.

These data are available in NETCDF format and, for the moment, the AERIS teams have acquired and converted the products since July 2023. A recovery of products and historical data since the 2000s is currently being processed.

This observation data from the Météo-France ground network may be useful in projects that combine data from different Earth observation themes, such as the Equipex+ GAIADATA project!

Feel free to consult and download these data in the AERIS catalogue.
